with Edna St. Vincent Millay Society staff.

She was a poet, revolutionary and jazz-age bohemian.  Learn about her life at Steepletop.

Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay is often called the “rock star” poet because she achieved fame and celebrity like no other poet of her time.  Internationally acclaimed, no woman poet in her generation was as adored, or widely read and quoted.  The Millay Society presents an illustrated talk about Millay’s life and career from her early days in Maine, through the Greenwich Village years, to her country life at Steepletop in Austerlitz, NY.  Highlights of Steepletop’s preservation and restoration are included.  Steepletop is open to the public May-October: Friday through Monday, 10 am to 4:30 pm.
