About Us

Welcome to the North Chatham Free Library, located in the charming, historic hamlet of North Chatham. The library has been a gathering place for members of the community since its charter in 1915; sponsoring diverse programs throughout the year for all ages.

The library maintains collections of books for children, youth and adults, as well as books on CDs, DVDs, local newspapers, and magazines and a collection of Great Courses. We have six computers (including a laptop and an Apple), two nooks, a kindle, a printer and a fax for public use.

With your library card, you are a member of the Mid-Hudson Library System. Besides the items that the 70 Mid-Hudson libraries have in their collections, you can also use downloadable audios, eBooks, eMagazines and online databases. Come and visit us. Your library card is a passport from this lovely hamlet to the global community and back again.
