North Chatham Luminaries

For decades now, North Chathamites have continued a long-standing tradition of placing luminaries along the highways and bi-ways of the hamlet on Christmas Eve. To enjoy this wonderful holiday community tradition without interruption and to ensure that the chain of light remains unbroken and warms the hearts of all, here is the schedule. Once again, newcomers (to whom we offer a warm North Chatham Greeting!) and old timers alike will be able to pick up any milk jugs, sand, and 15-hour votive candles they need between 10 am & noon at Mark’s Garage, just behind the Trolley Station. On Christmas Eve join the train to light the streets. If you need help call 518-766-3058.

A Gathering to place Holiday Greens for Virgina O’Hanlon Douglas’, the woman who as a girl wrote the most famous Christmas letter of all. This famous childhood letter to the Sun and the New York Sun’s reply will be read at her grave site on Sunday December 18, 2022 – 1:00 pm sharp at the North Chatham Cemetery.
