Getting a Good Night’s Sleep
Monday December 6, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Free
Having enough refreshing, restorative sleep is more important than ever these days. But it’s also been harder for many people to achieve due to added stresses and lifestyle changes.
According to the Sleep Foundation, adults between the ages of 18 and 64 need seven to nine hours of sleep while adults over 65 need seven to eight hours. They cite research showing that over 35% of American adults reported sleeping less than seven hours a night, on average, and that half of all Americans say they feel sleepy during the day at least three days a week.
Certified Adult Sleep Coach Seth Davis and the founder of Sleepably, a Denver, CO-based team of sleep coaches, will give attendees a deeper look into their sleep and how to enhance it. Via Zoom, he’ll cover the fundamentals of how sleep cycles work; key factors that may be impairing sleep; and actionable advice you can take to fall asleep faster and get higher-quality rest.
Hosted by the library’s Enriching Life, Increasing Knowledge (ELIK) committee, this program is supported in part by a grant from the Fund for Columbia County of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation as well as funding from the Bank of Greene County. The library is grateful for this support.
