Hatsgiving

Tuesday September 26 - Monday November 13

Pile of beautiful, new hats donated for hatsgiving and displayed on a library table

HATSGIVING, Inc, provides soft, warm hats for children who have lost their hair while battling cancer. The 501c3 charity was started in 2012 by Albany-based fourth grader Jermey Wernick and has distributed 26,000 hats across the country. NCFL has participated for three years.

The hat can be any new store-bought or handmade. Children of all ages may be diagnosed with cancer, so donated hats may be newborn to adult size to fit the tiniest patients up to teens. Almost any size winter hat will work. With each hat comes a smile from a child battling cancer. Let them know you’re thinking of them. All of the hats collected will be distributed to pediatric cancer centers in our region.

Inside the Library there is a collection bin. We will be collecting until Tuesday, November 14.
