Children’s book author and illustrator Elizabeth Zunon, will discuss the creative process behind her recent, award-winning picture book about her own grandfather, “Grandpa Cacao: a Tale of Chocolate, from Farm to Family.” She will also demonstrate her uses of traditional oil painting, cut paper collage, and screen-printing techniques. Ms. Zunon grew up in Ivory Coast, Africa and currently resides in Albany.

Ms. Zunon’s program may inspire any of us, of whatever age, who are curious about and love our grandparents, as well as those who have now “graduated” to be grandparents ourselves. How do we bring these hidden stories to light and share them with each other? This may be an additional topic for discussion.

This year, the library offers a respite for the weary in our programming devoted to travel: “Travel a melody, travel a line, travel a story, travel in time.”

Pre-registration is required for the zoom code. Email NCFL at [email protected].

This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered in Columbia County by the Greene County Council on the Arts dba CREATE Council for Resources to Enrich the Arts, Technology & Education.
