RESCHEDULE – ‘Meet in the Middle’: Bike the AHET trail NCFL to Valatie Free Library

RESCHEDULE to Friday.  Looks like rain to continue this afternoon with thunderstorms.

Friday July 30 the Valatie Free Library and North Chatham Library are organizing a bike/walk/run event for all riders young and old, on the new Albany-Hudson Electric Trail. Starting at 4pm participants can take off from either library to cycle on the rail trail for a six-mile one-way ride or as long as you want. Along the way there will be refreshments provided at the Niverville trailhead, also there will be: Columbia Friends of the Electric Trail and Fran Martino discussing the Stockport Creek watershed.  At the North Chatham library there will also be freebies for the kids, and at the Valatie library stop a mechanic from Velo Domestique will be standing by to fix any small bike troubles that might occur along the way.

Kids will get a gift card from Smile’s in Nassau good for an ice cream for participating. Grownups who complete the ride will be eligible to win one of two gift cards for a free tune up from Velo Domestique bicycle shop in Valatie or from Steiner’s on Rt. 9.
