Finding Julia: Centering Black Women in Antebellum History

FreeMartin Van Buren park rangers will lead a discussion of the new book by Amrita Chakrabarti Myers, The Vice President’s Black Wife. The book is about Julia Chinn, the enslaved wife of Richard Mentor Johnson, Martin Van Buren’s vice-president.
This program will be held in person at the Kinderhook Memorial Library and hosted virtually by Roe Jan Library.
