The Other Side of Poetry
Sunday November 13, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Live Zoom from Prague
Looking for something completely different? On Sunday, November 13, the North Chatham Free Library will present “The Other Side of Poetry,” a live ZOOM program with poet/photographer Lucien Zell. He will join us from his home in Prague, Czech Republic. As he likes to say, Lucien “never takes selfies but takes otheries, exploring the organic surrealism of everyday life.” His striking images echo his striking poetry. Discussion with the artist is encouraged. Expect to be surprised.
Born in Los Angeles and now living in Prague, Lucien Zell’s writing has appeared in Tikkun, The New Orleans Review, Poetry Salzburg Review, and will appear in three upcoming anthologies. His first U.S. book of poetry, Tiny Kites, was published in 2019. He has had fourteen international solo photo exhibitions. He wrote a libretto for “Carnival of Shadows”, a classical orchestral piece which premiered last November at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Lucien runs online poetry workshops and can be contacted at [email protected] by anyone wishing to join.
Registration is required.
TO REGISTER, EMAIL: [email protected] for the Zoom code link. Registration deadline Saturday, November 12.
This event is made possible with funds from the Hudson River Bank and Trust Foundation.
